Energy Modeling

Energy Modeling is the use of computer-based tools to simulate the energy use of a building throughout an entire year of operation. This is commonly referred to as "annual energy use simulation." Energy Modeling is used to assess the energy use of a building and to quantify the savings attributable to the proposed design.

This powerful tool, properly used, can help optimize the building design and allow the design team to prioritize investment in the strategies that will have the greatest effect on the building's energy use.

Homecrete Homes retained the services of environmental consultants "Calcs-Plus" to conduct Energy Modeling Simulations on each of our six model homes based on the following energy saving features:

  • Greenblock Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) high-performance wall systems
  • Low E windows
  • Spray foam insulation under roof deck
  • High efficiency heating and cooling system
  • Energy Star appliances
  • Compact fluorescent lighting

Based on the results of these simulations Homecrete homeowners can expect to realize energy savings of up to \$60,000.00 or more* over the life of their loan. Click Here to view an example of Energy Modeling calculation.
